A Collaborative Initiative to Revolutionize Appalachia's Food Systems with Renewable Energy Solutions
Project Goals and Vision
Our mission for Project Everberry is focused on sustainability, community impact, and economic development. We aim to:
Transform food systems with sustainable energy systems
Reduce carbon emissions and integrate renewable energy to minimize environmental impact, utilizing technologies like solar panels, wind turbines, and waste-to-energy systems.
Create economic growth and job opportunities
Create over 200 jobs in agriculture and renewable energy, ranging from skilled technical positions to community-based agricultural roles, ensuring a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Promote community health and well-being through fresh, local food
Improve access to locally-grown food through the development of indoor farming facilities powered by renewable energy, allowing year-round food production and reducing reliance on imported produce.
Create a transformative impact on the Appalachian region
Relocalizing the food system, educating, and opening new avenues to the burgeoning agritourism industry
Community Empowerment
Environmental Sustainability
The project's focus on renewable energy and sustainable agriculture will significantly reduce the region's carbon footprint and promote environmental stewardship.
Economic Revitalization
The project will stimulate local economies and provide new opportunities for residents by creating new jobs in sustainable farming, renewable energy, and food technology sectors.
Future Vision and Expansion
Our collaboration with institutions such as Ohio State University, West Virginia University, and Penn State University aims to foster research and educational opportunities. This includes offering research positions and internships and creating community outreach initiatives.
